What is it?

ANAVI Infrared pHAT is an open source hardware add-on board that converts your Raspberry Pi into a smart remote control that can bring your old consumer electronic devices, like air conditioning, TV, set top boxes and Hi-Fi systems to the Internet of Things (IoT) era.

Getting started is easy. No soldering is required. Just attach ANAVI Infrared pHAT to a Raspberry Pi with your bare hands and follow the exact steps from the comprehensive user’s manual to configure LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control). Furthermore, for interactivity and programmability, ANAVI Infrared pHAT supports sensor modules for temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and light. Free and open source examples of applications written in Python and the C programming language are available at GitHub.

Why did you make it?

ANAVI Infrared pHAT was created to:

• Control the air conditioning and making it more energy efficient from a Raspberry Pi
• Replace remote controls of the TV and HiFi systems with Raspberry Pi
• Bring life back to other old consumer electronic devices and transforming them into Internet of Things (IoT)
• Creating a Raspberry Pi weather station for monitoring temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and light

ANAVI Infrared pHAT is easy to use. ANAVI Infrared pHAT works with the popular open source project LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control) as well as the lightweight new command line tool like piir.

Compatibility

ANAVI Infrared pHAT works with Raspberry Pi 3 B and B+, Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi A+, Raspberry Pi B+, Raspberry Pi 0, and Raspberry Pi 0 W.

Peripherals

ANAVI Infrared pHAT officially supports UART to USB debugger and the following I2C modules with:

• HTU21D sensor for temperature and humidity
• BMP180 sensor for barometric pressure
• BH1750 sensor for light

You may also attach any other I2C sensors, but you will have to take care of their software integration.

ANAVI Infrared pHAT was brought to life in 2017 thanks to a crowdfunding campaign at Crowd Supply. We ship from Bulgaria with a tracking number through the services of DPD Economy or Bulgarian posts.
