A 12-slot version of this backplane is also available: SC709
This backplane includes six sockets for RCBus compatible modules, a 5-volt power input with on/off switch, a voltage supervisor and reset device, and power LED. It also has a horizontally mounted backplane extension socket.
The horizontal socket allows the connection of a backplane extension section or an RCBus module. Horizontal mounting of a module can be useful when debugging hardware or developing ROM-based software.
The documentation can be found at www.smallcomputercentral.com
This backplane conforms fully to the RCBus specification v1.0 and thus supports: RCBus-2014, RCBus-Z80, RCBus-68xx, RCBus-9995.
The RCBus specification includes RCBus-2014 (both RC2014 standard 40-pin bus and RC2014 enhanced 60-pin bus) and also the full 80-pin RCBus. The 80-pin RCBus provides support for advanced Z80 features, such as the interrupt daisy-chain, as well as support for other processor families.
The full kit includes all the components needed to make the backplane, as shown in the first picture, including mounting screws and spacers. Other modules and backplanes shown in the other pictures are not included. You will require tools, solder, and cleaning materials to assemble this kit.
The printed circuit board is available on its own here.
